Lieutenant Colonel Kyle Rogers was born and raised in Erie, PA, attending high school at McDowell. He graduated with a Criminal Justice degree and was commissioned from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania as a Distinguished Military graduate in 2006, branching Aviation.  ​

Upon graduation from flight school, he was assigned as a platoon leader in the 1-2 Aviation Regiment at Camp Eagle in the Republic of Korea, moving with the unit to Fort Carson, CO. He was reassigned to the 6th Squadron and Cavalry as an assistant operations officer, where he was deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan from 2011-12.​

Following graduation from the aviation captain’s career course in 2013, he commanded Charlie Company 4-227 Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (AH-64D) and later Command Fox Co, 227 Aviation Regiment (MQ-1C), deploying in both commands first to Operation Spartan Shield and later to Operation Inherent Resolve.​

As a major, he served as the brigade aviation officer for the 1st Striker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division and deployed in the same position to Operation Enduring Freedom as the Train Advise Assist Command – east, plans officer (G5). Upon redeployment, he assumed the position of the squadron executive officer for the 6-17 Cavalry Squadron. LTC Rogers had two broadening assignments as a major, first as the chief of the incentives and Compensation Branch within Human Resources Command and later as an observer coach trainer for 166 AVN BDE at Fort Cavazos. He is currently assigned as the professor of military science at the Pride of Pennsylvania ROTC Battalion.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal with Numeral 2 and V (Valor) Device, Meritorious Service Medal (sixth award), Army Commendation Medal (third award), Army Achievement Medal, and Combat Action Badge. ​

LTC Rogers is a graduate of Airborne and Air Assault school and is an Army senior aviator. He is a pilot in command and air mission commander who holds aeronautical ratings in the TH-67, OH-58A/C, and AH-64D. He also has a Master of Arts in Leadership and Management from Webster University.​
​
He is married to Meredith Rogers, and they have two children: Emily (six) and William (two).​
